Selank Nasal Spray · 10 mg / 10 mL

Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) developed in the 1990s at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is a stabilised analogue of tuftsin, an endogenous immunomodulatory tetrapeptide fragment of immunoglobulin G, extended with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail that shields the molecule from rapid peptidase degradation.

Why intranasal. Peptides of this class have effectively zero oral bioavailability — they are hydrolysed in the gastrointestinal tract before absorption. Intranasal delivery is the route used throughout the published research literature on this compound, and the route on which the Russian clinical work was conducted.

What the research literature reports. Preclinical work has examined Selank's modulation of GABA-A receptor function, inhibition of enkephalin degradation, and effects on serotonergic signalling. Inozemtseva and colleagues (Doklady Biological Sciences, 2008) reported changes in BDNF expression in rat hippocampus following intranasal administration. Kolomin and colleagues (Frontiers in Pharmacology, 2017) examined effects on genes involved in GABAergic neurotransmission in IMR-32 cell culture. Russian clinical trials have studied the compound in generalised anxiety disorder. Evidence quality is limited by the concentration of that literature in Russian-language journals with limited independent replication outside Russia — we state this plainly rather than overselling it.

Selank holds regulatory approval in Russia as an anxiolytic agent. It is not approved by the FDA or EMA, and is supplied here as a research compound.

This formulation. 10 mg of Selank in 10 mL of sterile saline (1 mg/mL), filled into a metered pump bottle delivering 0.125 mL per actuation — 125 mcg of peptide per actuation, approximately 80 actuations per bottle. Supplied ready to use; no reconstitution required.
